Accueil La Corniche Hotel

The hotel

In 1930, in the heart of San Martino di Lota, a village with stone-tiled roofs at the entrance to Cap Corse, Anne-Françoise and Robert Anziani managed a small inn which also served as a cafe, grocery and bakery.

It was a meeting place for villagers and inhabitants of Bastia would go to have something to eat in the cool shade of the plane trees. La Corniche overlooks the valley and the sea whilst looking to the islands of the Tuscan Archipelago to the east. Four years later the Anziani family decided to create twelve rooms. The first holidaymakers arrived and very quickly La Corniche became the subject of conversation as a place that stood apart, where family joy, true friendship and authentic cuisine mingled.

Over the years, the children and grandchildren transformed the small inn into a charming hotel and added a restaurant: one of the best tables in the region. The establishment has twenty rooms, a swimming pool, lounge, meeting room and wine cellar and has developed and expanded its client base whilst maintaining the calm and authenticity.

On the large shaded terrace, which has an exceptional view, you can enjoy refined cuisine that honours the wonderful island territory produce.

La Corniche calmly combines its charm, friendliness and Corsican identity underneath the serene strength of the one-hundred-year-old oak and plane trees.More Photo

The rooms

La Corniche Hotel offers three types of room: Standard, Superior and Comfort. They are nicely decorated and most have a magnificent view of the Tyrrhenian Sea.

All are equipped with flat-screen televisions, telephone and private bathroom with toilet and shower or bath. Wi-Fi access.

The Restaurant

The restaurant is the real “heart” of our house. We offer authentic cuisine that uses the best island produce and you will enjoy your meal in either the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the dining room or on our terrace where you will take in the breathtaking view.

Our menu features some traditional family recipes such as Brocciu cheese or “Persa” “Ravioli”, mother of the family, Mrs Anziani’s Corsican soup, or the traditional Fiadone, all dishes that have built the reputation of the establishment over 80 years.

You will also find the typical flavours of our region that are the result of the know-how of small but passionate and generous producers. To name but a few: “Tiger” veal from Mr Jacques Abbatucci’s organic farm, “home-made” cold meats from Mr Christian Benigni’s E Scopelle and fish such as dentex and sea bass are caught off Cap Corse by local fisherman.

All of our dishes are showcased by chef Wilfrid Travet who respectfully works with the produce for your pleasure.
